Selena Gomez Designed a Pair of Sneakers—and Socks!—for Puma
Ever since she was announced as the face of Puma back in September, Selena Gomez has appeared in a series of ads and lookbooks for the brand—on top of being photographed in its sneakers, of course. Now she's taking on the role of designer, releasing a sneaker and sock combo that's highly Instagrammable. (What else did you expect from most-followed person on the 'gram?)

Vogue reports that Gomez's first design venture for Puma is called the Phenom Lux, an all-white sneaker with gold accents and a removable ankle bracelet. She'll also be launching a pair of sheer windowpane socks to be worn with the kicks. Both drop on April 6, with the shoes retailer for $110 and the socks for $14.

"I’ve been wearing some fun socks with my sneakers and it just makes me feel a little bit more feminine," Gomez told Vogue. "I spent a lot of time creating a sock that felt comfortable, chic, and fun." This idea of celebrating femininity without compromising comfort comes up a lot in that collection—she says the built-in anklet, for instance, "makes me feel womanly and makes me feel cool…. It gives you a little bit of sparkle, and it can make you feel like you’re dressed up even when you’re in sweats." Gomez has been wearing sneakers so often that, per Vogue, she hurt her foot when she did wear heels for the first time in months.

There's also a charitable element to this launch: According to Vogue, Puma has pledged that $100,000 from sales of the collaboration will go toward the Lupus Research Alliance, a cause very personal to Gomez.

Set a calendar alert for April 6, when both the Phenom Lux sneakers and socks launch at Puma stores and puma.com. Don't be surprised if the styles sell out quickly—Gomez tends to have that effect.
